Two motorcycle-borne robbers arrested

Nagpur: Two motorcycle-borne purse snatchers were arrested in Sadar area on Thursday. Luck ran out of the robbers when the motorcycle they were riding slipped and both fell down. One of the arrested accused is juvenile boy.

The complainant Rajendra Manoharlal Vaidya (55), resident of Sadar Gandhi Square, along with wife, was returning home on their Kinetic Honda moped (MH-31/Q 4293) around 8.45 pm on Thursday. As the couple reached on Mount Road, the accused Sagar Durgesh Uike (20), resident of Dhantoli Takiya, and the juvenile boy riding pillion came from behind and snatched the purse from wife of Rajendra Vaidya. However, as the two robbers were fleeing on their motorcycle (MH-31/EJ 2753) slipped and the two accused crashed on the road. The bystanders and the couple immediately pounced on the two accused and handed over them to police. The purse contained Rs 500.

Based on a complaint filed by Rajendra Vaidya, the Sadar API Sawant booked the two accused under Sections 392, 34 of IPC and placed them under custody.
