Nagpur News :  Almost two months after the much talked about raid was conducted at Caramel Lounge – an upscale restaurant and bar located amidst bustling Sadar area, police have suspended the eating house licence of its neighboring restaurant Sanjha Chullah. However, bar permit to the restaurant would remain in place as suspension or cancellation of the same does not fall under police purview. Police sources informed that the suspension has been initially ordered for a period of one month. The owner would not be authorized to serve food at Sanjha Chullah during this period.

The action is being closely seen as the result of the recent raid as both the restaurants belong to the same owner. The two plush restaurants are said to be running under the proprietorship of Mandeep Singh Padam.

Nagpur-Today made repeated attempts to call Mandeep in this regard but he remained unavailable for the comments.

Caramel Lounge was earlier raided after the alleged reports about the rave party being organized there came in. The detained lot included most of the minor girls who were found to have consumed alcohol. About 50 odd girls were reportedly detained in the raid. One of the girls, who too was caught in inebriated condition was said to be the daughter of a local politician. She was soon let off without any action and matter was thrown under the wraps. The incident sent the city’s partying people in jitters, and it went on to become the hot talk of the town for days on end.

The latest action is also seen as the development of the earlier move by the police.
