Nagpur: In an outrageous incident, two men tried to rape a 42-year old woman at gun point as a sequel to raging property dispute and revenge against police complaint filed against them earlier. The two accused have been booked.
The two accused have been identified as Ranvirsingh alias Kaka Chandok and Harpritsingh Harjitsingh Chandok, both residents of Panchpaoli. On March 17, around11.30 pm, the accused Ranvirsingh Chandok and Harpritsingh Chandok accosted the 42-year old woman, also resident of the same area, when she was standing in the stairs. The accused first indulged in a wordy duel with the woman over property dispute and a police complaint lodged by her earlier. Suddenly, the accused Harpritsingh Chandok whipped out pistol and put it at the woman’s head and threatened to kill her. At the same time, the accused Ranvirsingh alias Kaka Chandok resorted to vulgar acts and even tried to rape the woman.
Panchpaoli API K S Gaekwad, acting on the complaint lodged by the victimised woman, has booked the two accused under Sections 376, 294, 506(B) of IPC read with Sub-Section 3+25 of Arms Act. Further probe is underway.
Notably, the police press release states that the two accused have been booked under Section 376 which deals with actual rape.
