Two injured in group clash; dozens booked

Two people were injured in a feisty group clash that took place Monday night in Sakkardara area. Police have booked more than a dozen members from both the sides.

Those booked were identified as Pradeep Mohanlal Thakur (23), Suhas Mohanlal Thakur (23), both residents of Raje Raghuji Nagar; Rajat Bhagwanidin Yadav (20), a resident of Pension Nagar; Sadiq Naseem Ansari (19), a resident of Jeevandeep Society, Ambedkar Square; Avtar Singh Mahendra Singh Ghunna alias Sonu (20), Ravindra Singh Romi, Amrit Singh Bagga, Sunny, and Satyapal Singh Kashmir Singh.

Police informed that the accused invested their money in certain fund. Pradeep, Suhas, Rajat and Sadiq were bound to pay as they had taken money from Avtar Singh for this fund. They later avoided returning the money. On Monday, Pradeep called Avtar’s brother Satyapal Singh and asked him to meet them at Sakkardara Square, near Ayurvedic College, in order to settle the money issue. As Avtar and Satyapal Singh met the accused, they were attacked by the above mentioned youths along with their 10-12 accomplices. The accused stabbed Satyapal’s abdomen and injured him severely with a sharp-edged knife.

In the counter case, police have booked Avtar Singh, Ravindra Singh, Amrit Singh, Satyapal Singh who, police said, had gathered in front of the gate of Ayurvedic College at Sakkardara Square. The accused attacked Pradeep and his mates when they  approached to settle their issues. They threatened Pradeep to return his money. The quarrel that was instigated by both the groups, resulted in counter attacks. Suhas suffered injuries in the attack Suhas and Satyapal are undergoing treatment at Gaikwad Hospital.

Cops have registered an offence under relevant sections of the IPC against both the groups and have started their investigations.
