Two burglars scare chasing people with knife while fleeing in Ganeshpeth

Nagpur: Two burglars, including a young woman, not only decamped with gold ornaments stolen from a house but also scared the owner of the house and other people, who were chasing them, by whipping out a knife.

The accused young woman, in the age group of 23 years, and his male accomplice (35) broke open the lock of house of complainant Veena Pravin Sukhdev (32), resident of Ganeshpeth, and burgled gold ornaments worth Rs 1.18 lakh kept in a steel almirah. However, when the two burglars were coming out of the house, Veena spotted them. She raised an alarm. Her shouts alerted the nearby residents. Veena and the residents started chasing the two thieves. However, they had to give up the chase as the male burglar whipped out a knife and pointed towards the chasing Veena and other people menacingly. Veena was left with no choice but to approach Ganeshpeth police and register a case.

API S N Dhoble has booked the two unidentified burglars, including the young woman accused, under Sections 457, 380, 34 of IPC read with Sub-Section 135 of Mumbai Police Act and mounted a search to nab them.
