Two arresting women cops attacked by accused

Nagpur: Two women police constables were abused, thrashed and suffered bloody gashes on their faces when they tried to arrest a 32-year old woman, an accused in a prohibited crime. The incident occurred in Pachpaoli area on Tuesday afternoon.

The two women police constables Chitra Kishan Murade and Kavita, attached to Pachpaoli Police Station, had gone to arrest the accused woman Shashi Pritesh Trivedi (32), resident of Pachpaoli, opposite Indore Namkeen. The accused woman was facing charges of a prohibited crime. But to the bewilderment of the two arresting women cops, the accused Shashi suddenly started abusing, thrashing them and inflicted bloody bruises on their faces with her fingernails. Taken aback by the attack, the two women police constables left the place without arresting the accused Shashi and lodged a complaint in this regard.

Pachpaoli API has now booked the accused Shashi Trivedi under Sections 353, 504, 506, 323 of IPC and probing the matter further.
