Two arrested for attempting to kill a youth near new Narasala Road

Nagpur News:  A 24-year-old youth was attacked with an intention of a murderous deed by two youths under the jurisdiction of Hudkeshwar Police Station. The incident, the police said, occurred on Friday night and was a result of an old rivalry.

Police said, the victim Uday Vasudeo Nanwatkar (24), a resident of New Narsala, along with Pankaj Gunnaprasad Tiwari (28), a resident of Swagat Nagar, Girijaraj Apartment, Flat No. 5, New Narala Road, and two other friends were consuming alcohol in Corner Point Beer Bar, Mhadgi Nagar. The accused, Roshan Ravindra Mane (28), and Nitin Subhashrao Tapase (26), who were sitting in a nearby table along with his friends, put up a quarrel with Uday for misbehaving his friend a few days back.

Uday and his friends left the bar to avoid any further argument. But, Roshan Mane, a resident of Narsala Grampanchayat Layout, Narsala, stalked Uday and Pankaj on a motorcycle with his friend Nitin Tapase, a resident of New Narsala Road, Plot No. 18, Indra Nagar. At around 7.45 pm, Roshan stabbed Uday from behind with a knife in front of Bhusari Garage, Swagat Nagar, New Narsala Road. While Uday was lying in a pool of blood, Nitin picked up a broken glass of a bottle, slashed his abdomen, and cut him near his right shoulder.

On being informed, Hudkeshwar police reached the spot and immediately sent the seriously injured Uday to Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment. On the complaint of Pankaj Tiwari, police have arrested accused Roshan Mane and Nitin Tapase and registered a case of attempt to murder under the Sections 307 and 34 of the IPC. Further investigations are under way.
