An 18-year old boy was killed when the motorcycle he was riding in was hit by a speeding truck in Wadi area on Tuesday evening. The driver of the killer truck has been arrested.
The deceased Dinesh Ramesh Bhende (18), resident of Waddhamna, Juni Basti, Nagpur, was returning home on his motorcycle (MFV-4556) at about 5.35 pm on Tuesday. When Dinesh reached near Tajne Sabhagruh in the same area, a speeding truck (MH-40/Y 1103) coming from opposite direction rammed his motorcycle with forceful impact. The impact left Dinesh critically injured and as a result he died on the spot. The fatal accident led to some tense moments in the area with people resorting to road blockade. Wadi police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
Wadi Senior PSI Kutemate booked the truck driver Arun Ramkrishna Botre (46), resident of Khapa, District Nagpur, under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC and Sub-Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act and arrested him.
