Tricksters loot pedestrian of gold chain, rings

Nagpur News: Two tricksters, imposing themselves as special police officers tricked a pedestrian and looted two gold rings and a gold chain near Indrayani Handloom under Nandanvan Police Station on Monday. Complainant Jeeteshwar Paunikar (35), a resident of NIT Complex, Gurudev Nagar, was on foot to home on Monday evening.

Two youths came to him and asked him and informed him that police checking drive is being conducted for which he will have to handover all the gold to them. Jeeteshwar handed over his two gold rings and a gold chain worth Rs 60,000 to the trickster. Soon, he realized that he has been fooled.

He rushed to Nandanvan Police Station and lodged a complaint against the unidentified youths. Further investigations are under way.
