Trickster from ‘London’ dupes woman of over Rs 2.50 lakh with parcel trick

Nagpur: A trickster named Dr Raymond Oswal of ‘London’ systematically cheated a 28-year woman to the tune of over Rs 2.50 lakh in the name of a parcel sent to her from ‘London.’ Cops are now looking for the con man named Dr Raymond Oswal.

The victim, Sneha Raibhan Karadbhajne (28), resident of Plot No. 65, behind Police Post, Nandaji Nagar, Kotwali, between May 4 and May 25 received a phone call and the caller identified himself as Dr Raymond Oswal from London. The fraudster Dr Oswal told Sneha that a parcel has been sent to her and also asked to deposit certain amounts in bank accounts designated by him to receive the parcel. Believing Dr Raymond Oswal, Sneha deposited Rs 95,000, Rs 43,000 and Rs 1,25,500 in Axis Bank in account in the name of MAICAM THANGA2 915010045534511, Bank of India in the name of MATBNM 504210110005458 and in Central Bank of India in account HDIHTHENG 3535547090 respectively.

However, Sneha did not receive any parcel despite depositing the amounts as told by the trickster Dr Raymond Oswal. Soon Sneha realized that she had been duped systematically by the con man from ‘London’ and his accomplices and lodged a complaint with Kotwali police.

API Kumbhare has booked the accused fraudster Dr Raymond Oswal of ‘London’ and his accomplices under Section 420 of IPC read with Section 66(D) of Information and Technology Act and launched a search to nab them.
