In response to 2 day trade bandh call of Federation of Association of Maharashtra against LBT, the wholesale markets of Nagpur contributing to 80% of the City’s business remained closed and wore a deserted look to-day.

The bandh also received tremendous response from other cities of Vidarbha where LBT has already been imposed viz. Chandrapur The trade was totally paralyzed in Chandrapur in response to the Bandh. The bandh was also very effective in Akola, where imposition of LBT has been stayed by High Court. Many other Cities in Vidarbha, including  Gadchiroli ,Bhardravati and Rajura where LBT is not applicable also supported the bandh and the trade in these centre was totally shutdown for sake of Traders unity.

As per reports received by NVCC, the overall response of bandh in the State of Maharashtra was tremendous and trade remained bandh in all 25 Cities where LBT has been imposed.

NVCC sincerely thanks Mangalprabhat Lodha, MLA for bringing adjournment motion on LBT on the opening day of Monsoon Session of the Assembly. Lodha has demanded that the House should discuss on the burning issue of LBT on the very first day of Session. Lodha has further demanded that LBT should be merged in VAT so as to establish a single window system in the State. He further said that citizens and traders both are disturbed over LBT. LBT shall bring in Inspector Raj and cause harassment to traders.  Lodha demanded that in larger interest an amicable solution to the issue of LBT should be found out by Government immediately.
