Traffic police create Green Corridor to reach jawans to hospital

Nagpur: Nagpur police were successful in creating a green corridor and reaching the 1 critical and 3 injured jawans to Orange City Hospital within five minutes covering a distance of six kms. The jawans were injured in a Naxal blast that took place at Kodgul village in Wadsa Tehsil, district Gadcchiroli and so had been brought to Nagpur airport by chopper. They needed immediate medical help. Taking a quick decision Nagpur Traffic police created a green corridor.

It may be mentioned that the second test match with Sri Lanka was going on at Jamtha Stadium. Soon after match buses of both teams were coming towards Radison Blu. The teams could not be stopped but it was essential to reach the jawans to hospital within five minutes.

Police Inspector (traffic) Girish Tathod and his team were given the responsibility of Green Corridor. DCP (Traffic) Ravindra Singh Pardesi successfully guided the team.

What is a Green Corridor?
Green Corridor is a route prepared by the traffic police, police and Hospital authorities. Traffic police marks the route and the traffic on this route is stopped for sometime or regularised so that the pilot vehicle or ambulance can require minimum time to go to its destination. At such a time the driver of the ambulance should experienced and trained. He should reach the patient in minimum time to the hospital so that the life is saved.
