Tough fight between Jain and Fuke in Gondia-Bhandara Legislative Counsel polls

: The 19th Gondia-Bhandara Legislative Counsel Elections is slated to be held soon. The entire area is abuzz with activities.

Various candidates from various political parties and certain independent candidates are trying their luck in the forthcoming Legislative Counsel Elections. Sources claimed that certain political parties have made certain independent candidates contest polls only for the purpose of ensuring cross voting. Various activities are undertaken to ensure that the number of their own votes remain stable while the number of votes of all rivals get fragmented or diluted. November 5, 2016 was the last date to withdraw candidature and no candidate has withdrawn their candidature.

It could be mentioned here that on November 2, 2016, 13 nominations were filed by 9 candidates. MLA Rajendra Jain of Nationalist Congress Party has submitted three applications. Corporator of Nagpur Municipal Corporation Parinay Fuke has submitted two applications on behalf of Bharatiya Janata Party and Praful Agrawal of Congress Party has submitted three applications.

Nikhil Jain, the son of MLA Rajendra Jain of Nationalist Congress Party had also submitted his candidature, however, Nikhil Jain’s application has been rejected in the scrutiny of documents and application held on November 3, 2016.

Now that the last date of withdrawing candidature is over, there are eight candidates trying out their luck in the forthcoming polls. The main fight is said to be between Parinay Fuke of BJP and MLA Rajendra Jain of Nationalist Congress Party.

In order to make this Legislative Counsel Elections a triangular fight, Prafulla Agrawal too is trying out his luck. The other independent candidates who are contesting the Legislative Counsel Elections include Vishnukumar Agrawal, Amit Jain, Arun Kumar Dube, Devendra Tiwari and Nitish Shah.
