Today’s cleanliness is tomorrow’s healthy life: Nagpur Smart City CEO Gotmare

Nagpur: It is everyone’s duty to keep the environment clean along with personal hygiene. Today’s cleanliness means tomorrow’s health and healthy life. The officials should make the citizens aware about this, opined Nagpur Smart City Chief Executive Officer Chinmoy Gotmare while guiding the workshop organised under Swachh Maharashtra Abhiyan Nagari 2.0.

As part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Swachh Maharashtra Abhiyan Nagari organised a capacity building workshop for Nagpur and Amravati division at Kavivarya Suresh Bhat Auditorium, Reshimbagh on Friday. Sameer Unhale Chandrapur Municipal Commissioner, Vipin Paliwal Nagpur Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner Ram Joshi, Sanghamitra Dhoke, Madhuri Madavi Chief Officers of various Municipal Corporations of Nagpur and Amravati Division Chief Engineer Nodal Officers were prominently present.

Under Swachh Maharashtra Abhiyan Nagari 2.0, a target has been set to make all the cities of Maharashtra waste-free by October 2, 2026. While guiding the workshop, Chinmoy Gotmare, Chief Executive Officer, Nagpur Smart City, said that when you get sick, you get treatment but you don’t take care to avoid getting sick. Sustainable development is the aim of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. Saying that there should be continuity in the context, Chinmoy Gotmare informed about the various activities being implemented in the city through Nagpur Smart City.

If one tries genuinely, achieving success is certain: Sameer Unhale
The workshop’s introductory speech was given by Sameer Unhale, Director of Swachh Maharashtra Abhiyan Nagari 2.0. While highlighting the main objective of the campaign, he said that the Maharashtra government is consistently performing well in the Central Government’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Sameer Unhale said that the entire service chain of sanitation and solid waste management is needed to be handled properly for ODF and water to be reached from above to the cities.

A movement with everyone’s cooperation is vitally essential: Ram Joshi
While guiding the workshop, Additional Commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation Ram Joshi said that the cooperation of common citizens is necessary in the matter of cleanliness. Citizens should change their attitude and cooperate with the administration to keep our city clean, beautiful and healthy.

Journey of cleanliness can be traversed from beautification and planning: Vipin Paliwal
Guiding the workshop, Chandrapur Municipal Commissioner Vipin Paliwal said that people’s participation is essential to bring our city up the list of village cleanliness. Paliwal appreciated the various activities being done by Nagpur Municipal Corporation saying that the journey of cleanliness goes from beautification to city planning, hence more emphasis is being placed on cleanliness in the competitive campaign. The workshop’s proceedings were carried out by Wadi Nagar Parishad CO Vijay Deshmukh. The workshop witnessed imparting of guidance on various topics.
