Tipper destroys 2 cars, 1 scooter & 1 cycle in freak mishap

Nagpur News: The carelessness of a Tipper driver caused severe damage to two cars, a scooter, a cycle, cables, wires etc on a street in Bajaj Nagar on May 2, 2014.

Eye-witnesses said that when they heard a loud noise, they rushed out to see the tipper’s bucket breaking the big branches and dropping one after the other on two cars, destroying the cables etc.  The Tipper bearing No MH 40-Y 3699 had come to deliver sand to a building site at the end of the street. The house of Bhoyar was said to be constructed at the end of street where sand was delivered by the Tipper. After emptying the sand, the tipper driver had carelessly left the bucket on a raised position.

Sachin Sudhakarrao Pahade aged 45 years and a resident of Chindwara (MP) had come along with his family to visit the family of Rushmali Shirdikar resident of Plot No 140, Ganpat Bhagat Street, Bajaj Nagar. He had come in a Maruti Suzuki Swift car bearing No MH-31/ AX 8318 which was parked right in front of the house. While Sachin Pahade and his family were having their lunch, they heard the loud noise. They rushed out to see their car smashed. A big branch had fallen over their car breaking the carrier, glasses etc.

A cycle and a scooter which was parked behind the car too were crushed. A little distance away, another car Maruti Suzuki Ritz VDI bearing no  MH-31 DK 1816 which belonged to Anup Kumar and driven by Agrawal was parked in front of his house Plot No 226 on the same street on the opposite side of the road. A big branch had fallen on that car too crushing and deforming the car.

The bucket had broken two very big and thick branches and had first dropped one on the car of Sachin Sudhakarrao Pahade. The tipper had swerved and carried the remaining branch, broken the cables (cable TV), cable distribution boxes and had dropped it onto the car of Anup Kumar. That car too was damaged by the falling of the thick branch on the car. After destroying two cars, a scooter and a cycle, the tipper driver had escaped from the site.

On being informed, the police personnel including second Police Inspector Githe and the team from Ambazhari Police Station arrived there and inspected the spot. They recorded the eye witness accounts. They conducted the panchanama and had initiated an enquiry into the matter. A case under section 279, 427, 134, 177 of IPC and under Motor Vehicle Act was registered against the Tipper driver.
