MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff escaped unharmed after unidentified assailants allegedly opened fire at his BMW in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening, October 18. Police said the actor suffered no bullet injuries, while his driver was admitted to Nanavati Hospital for treatment.
According to reports, three rounds were fired at the actor’s vehicle as he was returning home after playing a football match. The incident triggered a police investigation, with authorities cordoning off the area and launching a search for the attackers.
Tiger Shroff Safe, Police Confirm
DCP Mohit Garg of Zone 1, Western Region, confirmed that Shroff was safe and had not sustained any gunshot injuries. The actor’s father Jackie Shroff’s team also confirmed his well-being, stating that Tiger was fine.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reportedly contacted Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti to seek details of the incident and directed the police to expedite the investigation and take strict action against those responsible.
State Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar also spoke to the actor’s family following the firing.
12 Police Teams Formed to Trace Attackers
Mumbai Police have reportedly formed 12 teams to identify and apprehend those responsible for the shooting. Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the attack, including the motive and identities of the assailants.
No confirmed details about the suspects or the motive behind the firing were available at the time of reporting.
Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Claim Remains Unverified
A social media post attributed to overseas-based gangsters Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack in the name of the Lawrence Bishnoi group.
The post alleged that Tiger Shroff had previously received warnings and issued further threats concerning members of the Mumbai film industry and those working with actor Salman Khan.
However, the authenticity of the post and the alleged involvement of the Lawrence Bishnoi group have not been officially verified. The claims should therefore be treated as unconfirmed while the police investigation continues.
The firing has renewed concerns over the security of Bollywood personalities in Mumbai. Police are continuing efforts to establish the facts of the case and identify those involved.
