NAGPUR: Nagpur Police have put extensive security arrangements in place for Dhammachakra Pravartan Din and Vijayadashami, with around 5,000 police personnel deployed across the city to maintain law and order.
Deekshabhoomi, the main centre of Dhammachakra Pravartan Din celebrations, is expected to attract thousands of followers. Security has also been strengthened at Dragon Palace in Kamptee, Samvidhan Square and the Naglok area.
Over 1,500 Personnel for Deekshabhoomi
More than 1,500 police officers and personnel will be deployed in and around Deekshabhoomi. The arrangement includes 71 officers, among them two Deputy Commissioners of Police, Assistant Commissioners of Police, 20 Police Inspectors and 40 Assistant and Sub-Inspectors. A State Reserve Police Force unit will also be stationed in the area.

If the number of visitors exceeds the capacity of the premises, police may temporarily ask followers to wait at designated squares. They will be allowed to proceed once the crowd inside Deekshabhoomi decreases.
