Three incidents of looting and theft reported in 24 hours

Nagpur: Crimes like looting, waylaying and theft seems to have slowly rising in the city. Three incidents of theft and burglary were reported in the last 24 hours.

The first incident occurred in Ambazhari Police Station. On February 23, 2016 at around 9:15 pm, the victim identified as Meena Shashank Banerjee aged 52 years and a resident of Priyadarshini was coming back after purchasing a cake on her two-wheeler. Near Ravinagar bus stop, two unidentified youth of the age group of 20-22 years followed her. Suddenly they overtook her and snatched the shoulder bag from her shoulders. The bag had a mobile, pen-drive, cash of Rs 14,500/- in all goods worth Rs 29, 700/-was looted by unidentified goons.

The second incident occurred in Sonegaon area. The victim identified as Anil Kumar Gowardhan Rathi’s company Rainbow Cleaners Company had taken the contract for Metro Project Concrete Casting Side Wall.

Behind Rajaram Nagar, at the site of Petrol Pump at Chinchbhavan Pump House MIHAN, Metro Project area some unidentified persons stole Rs 1, 62, 540/- from him.

The third incident occurred in MIDC area. On Hingna Road in Nildo area, new construction work is on. The victim identified as Pradeep Prabhakar Kulkarni had locked the control room of the company and had left late in the night of February 22, 2016. On February 23, 2016, when he entered the company, some unidentified thieves had stolen some instruments worth Rs 80,000/- from the control room.

The MIDC Police has registered a case against unidentified thieves.
