Three arrested for illegally transporting cattle

Nagpur: Kamptee police on Tuesday arrested three persons on the charges of illegally transporting a herd of cattle heads including cows, calves and buffaloes in a four-wheeler. The cattle and the vehicle worth Rs 9.47 lakh have been seized.

The Kamptee cops received a tip off that certain persons were illegally dumping cattle in their vehicle for transporting them to an undisclosed destination.

The cops who were on patrolling duty immediately raided the place and found that the three accused Dilshad Ahmed Mushtaq Ahmed (28), Guddu alias Safahat Khan (35) and Samir Khan Shabbir Khan (29), all residents of Kamptee, were dumping 26 cattle heads including cows, calves and buffaloes in a Tata 1105 vehicle (NL-08/D 0238) illegally and mercilessly.

The three accused were immediately rounded up and the cattle and vehicle worth Rs 9.47 lakh were seized.
