Nagpur: In a bid to maintain food hygiene in the celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi upcoming in a few days, the Ganesh Pandals will, mandatorily, have to register themselves at the Food Department. It is to be mentioned that ‘prasads’ will be distributed in bulk amounts during the festive season. In such a huge amount of food distribution, the chances of overlooking in the quality are undeniable.
Other than these, several other rules are formed to ensure food safety by Dr. Pallavi Darade, Food Security Commissioner. The other rules include that the cooking spots must be clean and the raw materials for cooking must be brought from licensed distributors. Phone numbers have also been issued in order to maintain the food quality. Citizens can register a complaint on 1800222365 in case of any violation.
