Third, fourth class staffers of RTMNU threaten to go on indefinite strike

Nagpur News : The non-teaching staff of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University threatened to go on strike if their demands of promotion are not fulfilled within 15 days. Satish Hole, President Nagpur University Employees’ Association; Gajanan Kukde, President, Nagpur Post-Graduate Employees’ Association, and Dinesh Takne, President, Backward Class Employees’ Association, will lead the agitation.

Around 650 third and fourth class employees of RTMNU demanded Vice Chancollor Dr Vilas Sapkal promotion and improvement in payment structures. They said that teachers were promoted on regular interval of time but demands of non-teacher staff always drops flat on concerned authorities’ ears. They said that the roster, used to manage the work load of SC, ST category was not maintained properly. Thus, roster was not made. Non-teaching staff are getting promotions, as per rules, they alleged.

They said that in the Management Council meeting, held recently, proposal for post of assistant registrar, deputy registrar and superintendent were made but vacant seats of third and fourth class employees were totally neglected. And no proposal was passed to fill these vacant seats.

It is to be noted that third and fourth class employees pelted stones and created ruckus during management council meeting pressing for their demands.

They demanded promotions, reframing payment structure and fulfilling of vacant seats. And they threatened indefinite strike if their demands are listened an actions are not taken in this regard.
