    Thieves steal booty worth Rs 1.15 lakh by keeping employees on knife point

    Nagpur: In a well-planned robbery, three thieves barged into an office and looted Rs 25,000 and other valuables collectively worth Rs 1.15 lakh from Idea Distributors’ office on Thursday. Kotwali police have booked the thieves and started their investigations.

    Chetan Shankarrao Patil, aged 36 was present in Idea Distributors’ office at First Floor, Bapu Mahajan Munshi Galli, in Kotwali with his colleagues Rajendra Wanjari and Vikas Lute. The trio were counting the collection of the day collected throughout the day. Suddenly three unidentified youths, between the age group of 20 and 25, barged into the office and two thieves threw chilli powder on Rajendra and Vikas. The third thief kept Chetan on knife point. The thieves then stole the recovery cash of Rs 25,000 along with a mobile phone and an Activa scooterette (MH 31 DC 8438) collectively worth Rs 1.15 lakh and conveniently escaped the scene.

    On the basis of the complaint lodged by Chetan, Kotwali police have registered an offence under Sections 294 and 34 of the IPC against the thieves. Further investigations are in progress.
