Nagpur: A thief in the habit of stealing the mobile phones and purses from the possession patients admitted in various hospitals in Sakkardara has been nabbed by Sakkadara police. He is identified as Sheikh Iqbal Sheikh Yasin, resident of Sakkadara. As many as 17 android phones and 5 motorcycles worth Rs 3 lakhs have been seized from him.
According to police, the police had received information about the culprit, and a foolproof trap was laid to nab the thief on the evening of June 21. Under the guidance of ACP T D Gound and Senior PI H P Malani, API D M Chandan and his team succeeded in nabbing the culprit and recovered from him the aforesaid articles worth Rs 3 lakhs. API Chandan said that the culprit confessed that he had earlier committed similar incidents of theft under jurisdictions of Sakkardara, Hudkeshwar, Lakadganj, Ganeshpeth, Kotwali and Tahsil police stations. Further investigations are going on.
