Panchkula: A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Panchkula has pronounced the verdict in a rape case involving Dera Sacha Sauda supremo Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. The quantum of punishments on the ‘God man’ will, however, will be announced on 28th. He will, as of now, be taken to Rohtak prison in a chopper.
He has been announced guilty of raping two women followers in 2002. Major towns in Punjab and Haryana remain in lockdown to avoid any chaos. Several followers have also seen to agitated after the decision was disclosed.
Followers wept, some fainted, as they waited for the verdict, which has created a huge security nightmare in multiple towns including Panchkula. Ram Rahim had said he is not guilty of the charges against him. The verdict on 15 years old case was given by Jagdeep Singh.
