‘Swachch Bharat Swachch Vidyalaya’ campaign in all NMC schools from November 14 to 19

The Nagpur Municipal Corporation is undertaking the “Swachch Bharat Swachch Vidyalaya” Campaign from November 14 to November 19 to in a big way to mark Children’s Day. Taking the inspiration from the ‘Swachch Bharat’ Campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Gandhi Jayanti, October 2, the NMC will undertake the cleanliness drive in all its schools on all the days of the campaign.

Following the directives of Mayor Pravin Datke and Municipal Commissioner Shyam Wardhane, the Chairperson of NMC’s Education Committee Chetana Tank on Wednesday called a special meeting of all Headmasters of 166 primary schools at Town Hall in Mahal. In her address, Chetana Tank told the Headmasters to focus on cleanliness and health in the form of a campaign. Tank further said that the NMC will be organizing various programmes from November 14 to 19 to highlight the importance of cleanliness. The most clean school will be present Mayor’s Trophy, said the Chairperson of Education Committee.

The cleanliness campaign will begin at 2 pm on November 14 from Town Hall. Two students each from NMC’s 166 primary schools will participate in the campaign. During the campaign, the civic body will organize Essay Contest, Drawing Contest, Slogan Contest, and other events with focus on cleanliness in school premises and health of children, said Chetana Tank.

Others who attended the meeting include Green Vigil’s Kaustubh Chatterjee and his associates, NMC’s Education Officer, School Inspectors and other concerned personalities.
