In what could be termed as delayed action, the authorities at Super-Specialty Hospital have resumed the surgeries at their Operation Theatre Cardio Vascular & Thoracic Surgery-Operation Theater (CVTS. OT) on November 18, 2014. This is probably because of the article published by Nagpur Today on November 17, 2014 titled- “Patients suffer as OT at GMC’s Super Specialty closed; CM to write to hospital’. The first patient was already wheeled into the OT at around 7:30 am.
The Medical Superintendent of Super Specialty Hospital Dr. Vandana Agrawal was seen in action, giving directions to all the staff members. The security of the Super Specialty Hospital too has been tightened and no visitor without proper reason is permitted inside the hospital. This is probably since they do not want press or media personnel inside the hospital prying into their affairs.
Construction finished one month ago!
The construction work given to PWD which was claimed by Medical Superintendent Dr. Vandana Agrawal was in fact being done in the Operation Theatre Cardio Vascular & Thoracic Surgery-Operation Theater. However, the staff of the Super Specialty Hospital on condition of anonymity claimed that the construction work had been completed long time back and only because of sheer neglect to take charge from the PWD, the OT was closed. They claimed that the senior staff of the hospital enjoys all festival leaves without bothering for the treatment of patients. Any patient who raises voice to demand the treatment is promptly told that if he or she wants better treatment, they can go to private hospitals.
No senior official was ready to give any statement.
Meanwhile, the personal assistant of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has also claimed that letter in this regard will be sent to the authorities so that the services could be resumed fast.
