Students pack at exam centres in Nagpur as CBSE, State Board start finals

Nagpur: Hordes of students marched towards various examination centres in Nagpur as the Xth and XIIth board exams of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) as well as SSC examination of Maharashtra State Board began from Tuesday.

More than 19,500 students including Xth and XIIth will be appearing for the CBSE examination in Nagpur. These included 15,000 students from Xth and more than 4,500 from XIIth.These examinations were conducted at 15 centres in Nagpur district.

The HSSC examination will be held from March 1 to April 22. The first paper is of English subject. And the SSC examination will be held from March 1 to March 28.

Meanwhile, nearly 1.9 lakh students appeared for the State Board SSC examination that kickstarted at 667 examination centres in Nagpur. These include 98,859 boys and around 92,084 girl students. The first paper was of Marathi subject. There are 217 examination centres in Nagpur and 70,804 students appeared from Nagpur. The board has formed 6 flying squads to keep a tab on copying cases at around 667 examination centres.

Nagpur divisional board officials were busy whole day on Monday in preparation in view of the examination . The board has also started a helpline number for the student’s exam related queries. The board officers informed that the question papers and the related examination articles have been sent to the respective examination centres. Tight security arrangements have been deployed at all the examination centres.
