Nagpur News : On Tuesday, a delegation led by BJYM youth leaders Shivani Dani ( National Executive Member, BJYM)  and Nidhi Kamdar (Vice-President,BJYM,Maharashtra) met Pro-VC of RTMNU Dr.Vinayak Deshpande regarding the ongoing issue of Engineering students which has become a subject of confusion.

Ms. Nidhi Kamdar led the students who expressed their woes to the Pro-VC by giving him a 3 page deputation . The deputation contained queries raised by students that despite fulfilling the eligibility criteria established by the university they are not allowed to appear in examination of 5&6 or 7&8 semester.

Delegation also pointed out that University took 6 months to send amendment of ordinance Hon’ble Chancellor for amendment if at all that was required. The most important question raised by students was about the chancellor’s reply to RTMNU that states that amended ordinances will be applicable to next academic year, but the very reason this notification was proposed was for the relief to this existing batch of 2013-1014. Ms. Kamdar raised question about the controversial notification issued by university dated 13th sept, 2013.

Admission taken by students are Regular not provisional. Students has payed full fee against 10% of fee in case of provisional admission in colleges and yet university send ordinances of Provisional admission for amendment to governor. Ms. Kamdar also raised question that is this student’s fault that RTMNU did not do the needful for six months and kept students in dark till last moment of their exam?

Hon’ble Chancellor has asked university to reply in 15 working days (i.e. till 10th May) but university is holding its meeting on 13th of May. Pro-VC sir has assured that he will look into the matter and will try to solve it as soon as possible. The next examination of students is starting from 15th of May, 2014. 2000-3000 students will lose their academic year if they are not allowed to give examination. The matter of timely re-valuation was also pointed out by Ms. Shivani Dani. Lots of students are getting affected by delay in re-evaluation results causing mental harassment. It is sheer responsibility of University to take out re-evaluation results in time but they are failing in doing so.

The delegation is thankful to The Pro VC for such patient hearing and Students look forward for justice to them amidst such confusion and unnecessary harassment to students for no fault of theirs .
BJYM is fighting for justice of students on this issue under the leadership of Shivani Dani, Nidhi Kamdar, Bunty Kukde, Jitendra Thakur & team
