Stray dog causes death of motorcyclist in Nagpur

Nagpur: A middle-aged man on Monday died of head injuries after falling off his motorcycle when a stray dog came in front of his vehicle near Bhandewadi T-point in Wathoda area.

The deceased, Rajesh Mahadeo Bhende (48) was a resident of Plot No 180, Ashirvad Nagar, near Symbiosis International University. Around 10.30 am on June 9, Bhende was going on his bike. Suddenly, a stray canine ran across the road. Bhende lost control and fell off the motorcycle. With serious injuries, Bhende was admitted to Integrity Hospital. Around 7 pm on Monday, he succumbed to his injuries.

Wathoda Police registered an accidental death case. Further investigations are underway.

Motorcyclist rams into stationary truck, dies:

A stationary trailer truck parked on Wardha Road near Parsodi in Beltarodi area claimed the life of a 32-year old man on Sunday night. A resident of Lodhi Manjri, Dongargaon, Dhammadas Sudhakar Gajbhiye, who was going on a two-wheeler (MH40/BR-8930) around 10 pm. Gajbhiye lost control of his vehicle and rammed into the stationary trailer truck (MH06/AQ-0098) from behind. He was killed instantaneously.

However, passers-by rushed Gajbhiye to All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) where the doctors declared him ‘brought dead.’ Preliminary investigation revealed that the biker was not at fault as the parking lights of the trailer truck he rammed were off. Even the truck had no reflectors.

After recording the statement of Sudhakar Gajbhiye (60), father of the deceased, Beltarodi Police registered a case under Section 304(A) of the Indian Penal Code and launched a search for the truck driver.
