Maharashtra Government is firm on scrapping Local Body Tax (LBT) in the State but finding alternate source of income for the civic bodies is also equally important. Keeping this fact in mind, the Municipal Commissioners should study the alternate sources of income and apprise the Government about the same as soon as possible, said the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday.
The Chief Minister Fadnavis was speaking at a meeting of Municipal Commissioners in the State. The meeting, held at Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai, was also attended by Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, Chief Secretary Swadhin Kshatriya, Principal Secretary of Finance Department Sudhirkumar Shrivastav, Principal Secretary of Urban Development Department Shrikant Singh, Sales Tax Commissioner Nitin Karir and other senior officials.
