Daga Hospital
Nagpur: Daga Hospital situated in Sitabaldi area is a very popular Nursing Home cum Maternity hospital for economically backward women. Not just women of Nagpur area but also ladies from M.P. And Chattisgarh come here for their deliveries and neo natal check ups. Infants and babies are also seen by Doctors in Daga.

So popular is this hospital that on Wednesdays it can treat upto 1000 patients in its OPD. Annually over 700 women have their deliveries done here and at any given time 250 pregnant women are undergoing treatment and routine check ups.

Looking to the vital role this hospital has been playing for Woman and Child care, the Central Govrnment had earmarked a total of Rs. 17 crores for expansion and modernization of Daga Hospital.  This had been done under the Corporate Social Responsibility project. Out of these funds the hospital was to build a five storeyed building and add 100 more beds.

Over an year ago, on the request of the State Govt. 3 crores had been transferred immediately for the hospital in Nagpur.

Since then governments changed in Mumbai and we got a Nagpur man as C.M. The whole city is waiting in anticipation to turn into a Smart city. But it is sad that the amount of Rs. 3 crores is just lying unused and the hospital hasn’t seen any improvement or change at all.

This move of expansion of Daga hospital was taken by Medical Suptdt. Dr. Faroukhi. He sent the proposal to the State Govt which immediately forwarded it to to the Centre and the proposal was approved. But since then the State govt hasn’t moved a single file clearing the construction or giving the green signal to begin other work. So the funds remain unutilized and the patients keep suffering from over crowding and paucity of infrastructure.

The usual story of Nagpur?
