As the city students gear up for admission to their graduation programmes, post their 12th results, many of them are left in the lurch thanks to the apathy of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. Most of the students have been complaining of evaluation glitch in their mark sheets. One such student was shocked to find out that her theory marks were not added to her score. Wonder what if she would not have applied for revaluation. However the board’s correction may prove to be of little help for this student as the admission process are already picked up and she may miss out on the college of her choice by the time the board sends her the corrected mark sheet.

Similar such blunders are coming to the fore every now and then. Sources said a whopping 3000 cases of revaluation including printing mistakes and clerical errors have been filed at board office.

The case in question is of a 12th Arts girl student whose result showed that she failed in her Economics paper. Her mark sheet showed she scored 19 marks. Reeling under doubt over her score she applied for revaluation and photo copy of the answer sheet. However, when she got her copy it surfaced that marks for her written paper were not included while she got only internal marks.

The girl actually got 37 marks in her written exam and 19 marks in the internals and she has passed with this score. But, this blunder by the board has put the girl in big trouble. The first year admissions in most of the colleges are over and the seats are occupied. Still, the girl has not received her revised mark sheet.

When Nagpur Today contacted the board officials in this regard, the official admitted to have done the mistake while assuring that it has been rectified and the girl would get her revised mark sheet in few days. When the official was quizzed about girl’s trouble ahead in getting admission to her first year of graduation, he claimed that a notification will be issued stating the latest date of her results. In an assurance mode, he came out with the piece of suggestion that she would not face problem and would get admission in some of the college for sure.

But there are many such cases who are facing these problems and the official could not come up with satisfactory reply on how these students awaiting their revaluation outcome, would be able to get admission. Under such a set of situation, it has only added to the woes of these students.

Just yesterday on July 3, NagpurToday had carried the story of the blunders committed by the Nagpur University Summer examination results, wherein a student got 433 out 400 marks.
