State Board provides more and more relief to Class X weeklong students

In a significant decision that will provide more and more relief to physically weaker and handicapped students, the Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has decided to change the education system for these students. Now, the weeklong students studying in Class IX and X have been given freedom to choose subjects of their choice from the comprehensive courses. The decision would be implemented during this very session i.e. 2013-14 thus facilitating a large number of physically weaker and handicapped students to appear in Class X Board examination.

Every year, thousands of weeklong students appear for Class X examination. Now, the fresh decision of the Board would increase the number of weeklong students manifold. Now, the weeklong students who have been given freedom to choose subjects could drop Science subject and could opt for Health Science and Home Science. The Mathematics paper would be of same 100 marks but with 50 marks for written paper and the 50 marks would be given on their project works carried out during the entire session year. Similarly, the Work Experience Subject would now be called Work Education. The weeklong students could opt for one of the three languages and two Work Educations.

The State Board, in a recently issued circular, has given the facilities to the blind, deaf, physically weeklong, cerebral palsy, mentally challenged, unable to read students. The most crucial relief for these students is in the form mathematics. The students studying in Class IX and X could use study books of Class VII.
