Sanjay Charalwar, principal of Mohta Science College, said, “There is increased awareness among students and parents on the need for good education. For students, it’s about pushing themselves more to be relevant in this competitive world and for parents its about providing all support to their children to achieve it.”
Jaspal Singh, principal of Guru Nanak School and Junior College, said, “Schools have been putting a great deal of effort in implementing the latest teaching methodology and having multiple revision sessions. This is not something which has happened overnight, but is a result of years and years of hard work.” Uma Bhalerao, principal of MKH Sancheti Public School, said, “Schools focus on finishing the course properly and in time so that more time is available for revisions.”
The thirst for high scored has fostered an ecosystem of coaching institutes. Nisha Kothari, director of IIT-Home where Jawade studied, said, “It was sheer hard work that got him such a high score. Anand called me today saying he was surprised on being called the possible state topper.”
All state-level science toppers that Nagpur has produced have been associated with some or the other coaching institute. The multiple revisions and honing of paper solving skills at these coaching institutes gives students an edge in the board exams.
