Vidarbha will witness star campaigners of different political parties launching a blitzkrieg for the Lok Sabha elections and take the region by storm. The coming days would be dotted by Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, BSP Supremo Mayawati, Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray and MNS President Raj Thackeray.

Vidarbha is going to poll on April 10 and the campaigning ends on April 8 evening. Traditionally, Vidarbha had been a fortress of Congress but in the last few elections, Congress lost the shine. Sonia and Rahul Gandhi would be touring the region with the sole aim of regaining the old glory. Rahul Gandhi will be in Gadchiroli on March 28 and address a poll meeting. Similarly, Sonia Gandhi is likely to campaign in Wardha or Ramtek or Gondia on April 4 or 5.

Narendra Modi had hit the campaign trail in Wardha on March 20. After the highly successful visit, Modi is likely to tour Western Vidarbha and address a meeting in Akola possibly on March 28. BSP President Mayawati is addressing a meeting in Amravati on March 27.

Uddhav and Raj Thackeray are coming to Vidarbha on the same day. Raj Thackeray will campaign for the party’s only candidate Raju Patil while Uddhav will address meetings for Shiv Sena’s candidate for Ramtek Lok Sabha constituency Krupal Tumane. However, there is possibility that their tour date may get changed by a day or two.
