SRPF Jawan heckles, threatens Police Inspector on duty in MIDC

Nagpur: A Police Inspector and Naik Police Constable were abused, heckled and threatened in separate incidents in MIDC and Ambazari jurisdictions. One of the accused reportedly is an SRPF Jawan.

In the first incident, the Police Inspector Vinod Keshav Rai (42), attached to State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), Hingna and his team went to Qtr No. 115/2, New Tenements, SRPF Camp, Hingna Road, for taking action against the accused Atul Sudamsingh Thakur (30) regarding occupation of government quarter. The accused Atul Thakur, who is reportedly an SRPF Jawan, created hurdles in the discharge of duty by the PI Rai by abusing, heckling and threatening him with dire consequences.

Based on the complaint of PI Vinod Rai, MIDC API Kale has booked the accused SRPF Jawan Thakur under Sections 353, 504, 506 of the IPC and probing the matter further.

In another incident, the Naik Police Constable (NPC) Kishore Mule of Ambazari Police Station was on CR Mobile duty and was patrolling at Futala Lake area around 0115 hours of Thursday. During the patrolling, the NPC Kishore Mule noticed a Dinshaw Ice Cream Parlour open at that odd hour. He immediately asked the three persons manning the parlour to shut it down. But instead of downing the shutters, the accused Atul Brijesh Agnihotri (24), resident of Telangkhedi, near Hanuman Mandir, Paramjitsingh Gurcharansingh Lohiya (35) of Vaishalinagar and their one accomplice started hurling abuses on the policeman and ran towards him in a threatening posture. They pushed and manhandled Kishore Mule while he was performing government duty.

Ambazari API Mandal has registered a case against the accused under Sections 353, 504, 186, 34 of the IPC and searching them.
