Sri Sri Ravishankar eventNew Delhi/Nagpur: The National Green Tribunal, a quasi govt. body headed by former CJI Swantantra Kumar has already expressed its displeasure and doubt over the mega event scheduled to begin in two days, on Friday 11th March.

It has questioned the DDA, the Delhi Government and the Central Home Ministry about how such a permission was granted in the first place.

It is learnt that now all these people are running for cover pointing fingers at others for the permission.

The President Pranab Mukherjee first set the ball rolling by pulling out of the function which he was scheduled to attend.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate event on Friday and the President was to attend the valedictory function on Sunday. It still has to be seen if the PM will stick to him commitment since it is learnt that the Delhi police and MHA are both now expressing doubt over the safety of the PM and stability of the temporary structures being put up. Work on the site seems hardly complete though only two days are left for the ambitious function which 3.5 lakh people are slated to attend.

The program is to be held on the West banks of Yamuna and parking and other facilities are being made on the East, which is where most people will be coming in from.

Questions are also being raised about the Army personnel being roped in to build a Pontoon bridge from the east bank of the Yamuna to the west. With such large numbers attending at least 6 bridges were required ( as per organizers) but only one was agreed upon by the Army.

After the fire that engulfed the Make in India function in Mumbai recently doubts are being raised about the safety of this Art of Living function. Suppose something similar happens here? Will there not be a stampede? How will one bridge contain such large crowds?

More controversy is being created by 80 farmers going on strike now against the event.

They claim their farmlands have been taken over and flattened to create parking lots for the VIP invitees of the mega event.

What does Sri Sri Ravishankar have to say about this controversy?

“I would have received the red carpet welcome from any other country for this event” said the Guru/ Godman.

He has also expressed doubts about the integrity of the NGT and mantains that AOL will not damage a single tree or the environment with their function.
