Nagpur: A 13-year old girl was crushed to death and her sister injured seriously when the Activa they were riding was hit by an unidentified speeding truck. The tragedy occurred near Hiwri Nagar Square on Wednesday afternoon. The driver of the killer truck fled the spot fearing backlash from angry crowd.
The two sisters, Arju Sanajy Jain (21) and Anuja Sanjay Jain (13), both residents of Surya Nagar in Nandanvan area, were returning home on their Activa (MH-31/CZ 2945) from Hiwri Nagar Square on Wednesday. When the sisters reached in front of Mayur Trading Company around 4.15 pm the unidentified truck coming from opposite direction hit the Activa with forceful impact. As a result, both the sisters fell on the road. Unfortunately, the 13-year old Anuja came under the wheels if speeding truck and was crushed to death while Arju escaped with some serious injuries. A crowd of angry people gathered at the spot and tried to catch the driver of the killer truck but he succeeded in fleeing after the accident. On being informed, Nandanvan PSI Kamble and his team reached the spot and calmed down the crowd. After completing the preliminary investigation, the cops sent Anuja’s body to Government Hospital for post-mortem.
