A youth was run over by a speeding truck while the driver was taking the truck in reverse under the jurisdiction of Hudkeshwar police station early Friday morning. The truck driver has been arrested.
According to information, the ‘killer’ truck driver Pravin Kanthiram Kakde (28), a resident of Manewada Cement Road was revering his truck (MH 40 Y 1230) near Gholgi village HP Gas Godown. The truck was in great speed and the driver could not see the youth Vijay Uikey (20), a native of Barighat, Kamptee who coming from rear. The truck ran over Vijay’s head and resulted in his on the spot death.
On the basis of the complaint lodged by Shivpal Dhurve (25), also a native of Kamptee, Hudkeshwar police have registered an offence under Sections 279 and 304 (a) of the IPC and arrested the truck driver.
