Speeding car kills pillion rider; biker injured

A youth riding pillion on the bike was killed on the spot while his friend who was driving the vehicle sustained minor injuries when a speeding car rammed into their two wheeler ar Wadadhamna on NH 6 here on Monday.

Wadi police have registered the case against car driver who fled the spot, under sections 279, 304 (a) read with sub sections 134, 184, 119, and 177 of the Motor Vehicle Act.

Sources said Mayur Arunrao Dudhe, 21, and his friend Roshan Dhanraj Pund, 22 were returning home after attending their college on Pulsar bike (MH 40 AF 0025) on Monday at 3.45 pm. On their way back to home, a speeding car rammed into their bike near Avtar Dhaba, Wadadhamna, Highway No. 6. Mayur sustained minor injuries while the pillion rider Roshan was killed on the spot . The unidentified driver sped away from the spot leaving the injured in a pool of blood.

Onlookers helped the injured and informed Wadi police. Cops rushed to the spot and after performing panchanama sent the body of Roshan for autopsy to Government Medical College and Hospital.
