It was the time for celebration at Shatrughan Sinha’s house who son Kush tied the knot on Saturday. Kush is elder to Sonakshi, daughter of Shatrughan Sinha. Kush married his long time friend Taruna Agrawal, who belongs to an NRI family in London. The wedding ceremony was kept private and media was not allowed to enter.
Though the wedding was a close knit affair, a lavish reception was organised on January 19, 2015. The major attraction of the wedding reception was the arrival of PM Narendra Modi. An excited Sonakshi Sinha shared a picture with PM Modi and her family members on Instagram recently. She wrote, “Thank you @narendramodi sir for keeping your promise to me! You made our day truly even more special :)” [sic]
The event saw Bollywood’s who’s who in attendance. Sonakshi Sinha also shared a picture with Jaya Bachchan, Tina Ambani, Hema Malini and Poonam Dhillon on her social account. All the actresses, dressed in traditional silk sarees and jewellery, looked elegant. Sonakshi looked like a million bucks in this mauve coloured lehenga choli. She complimented her attire with kundan and gold jewellery.
Shatrughan Sinha, a former Union Minister, is now a BJP MP from Patna. Sonakshi also shared many pictures from the wedding ceremony. She also shared a picture with dad Shatrughan and wrote, “All settttt!!! dulhe ke daddy! #bhaikishaadi #weddingtimes #fun #baraat.” [sic] Dad Shatrughan and brother Luv sported a traditional pagdi during the ceremony.
The wedding mandap was lavishly decorated. Sonakshi shared a picture from the mandap too and wrote, ” #bhaikishaadi #mandap #phere #weddingtimes.” [sic] She also shared a couple of pictures from the mehendi ceremony. While sharing her mehendi picture, Sonakshi wrote, “Rach gayi mehendi!! #bhaikishaadi #baraat #phere #weddingtimes #fun.” [sic]
Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan too took out some time from their busy schedule and attended the event. While Abhishek was dressed in black sherwani, Aishwarya looked gorgeous in a biege coloured churidar suit. Manish Malhotra looked dapper as always in black. Neil Nitin Mukesh also attended the event and sported a golden coloured, heavily embroidered sherwani.
