Son of businessman found murdered in Kamptee

Tension ran high in Kamptee as a son of a businessman was murdered by some unidentified person(s) on Thursday morning. The deceased has been identified as Taslim Akhtar, son of Jahir Mistry who is in decoration profession. Body of Taslim was found lying in a pool of blood near a nallah on Yerkheda Road near Masoom Shaha Dargah. On being informed, a team of New Kamptee police led by In-Charge Police Inspector Uttam Mulak reached the spot and started investigations. Cops have registered a murder case.

According to police sources, blood-soaked body of Taslim Akhtar (33), resident of Waripura, was found lying near a nallah on Yerkheda Road. Father of the deceased runs a decoration business in Gujri Bazaar area. It is learnt that the deceased was a drunkard. On Thursday morning, Taslim left home as usual around 7 am. However, he did not return home. In the meantime, New Kamptee police received information that body of a man was lying near nallah on Yerkheda Road. A team of police reached the spot. Relatives also rushed to the scene and identified the body as that of Taslim Akhtar. Later, cops performed panchnama of the body and sent it to a government hospital for autopsy.

According to sources, cops found a blood-soaked piece of tile at the crime scene. Cops surmise that the tile could have been used by the unidentified assailant(s) to eliminate Taslim. Police have seized the piece of tile. A motorcycle was also found parked near the body of Taslim. Cops are trying to ascertain the owner of the bike.

New Kamptee cops have registered a murder case. Further probe in underway.
