Sold woman rescued from MP

Nagpur News : A police team from Yashodhara Nagar police station has finally successfully resuced a widow woman who was allegedly sold in village at Madhya Pradesh for Rs 20,000 in August. Earlier, police had filed a missing complaint but later, it was her daughter who had filed an alleged abduction complaint of her mother when she received her call on September 13.

Police had already arrested one Atmaram Rai in the case on the allegations made by her daughter. Puja (name changed) would work as a labourer to earn livelihood for her three children. To earn extra income, she would sometimes ccompany a catering team of Atmaram Rai.

She had gone missing since Rai, had taken her out of town for the catering assignment. The abduction came to fore when Puja called her daughter from MP and told her that Rai has cheated her and sold at Rs 20,000.

After initial investigation, police registered a case and Rai was arrested on September 22. Finally, after three days of operations, cops successfully rescued Puja but refused to reveal more details on being insisted by her daughter.

Police said that no other accused was arrested in the rescue operation.
