Nagpur: Social media went agog with nasty messages doing rounds regarding Nagpur Municipal Corporation elections. Some of the wild messages being flashed in social media platform read: “EVMs have gone dead.” “Press any button, vote is going in BJP account.” Such and other mischievous messages triggered confusion in the minds of voters.
To dig out the truth, Nagpur Today talked to Election Officer in NMC Surendra Murkute and asked him to clear the air. He said that voters should not fall prey to such outrageous messages being spread by mischief mongers. “These are all rumours and voters should neglect them outrightly.
If EVMs go dead then the Election Control Room is the first to receive such information. The flawed EVMs are changed immediately. No complaints have been received by the concerned authorities regarding poll process,” Murkute asserted.
