Nagpur: According to news published in a City based english newspaper, Consumer number 410011579225 of SNDL is confused as he is unable to understand why he received two electricity bills for one month. The person concerned is not the only one, there are many such consumers of SNDL who have received two electricity bills in one month.
When the cause of this was investigated, it came to the fore that the electricity distribution franchisee has sent wrong SMSs to the consumers.
Actually, the electricity bills are issued as per the rates fixed by Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC). The bills are issued once in a month. There are two dates given for the payment of the bills. If the consumer pays the bill before the last date, he gets discount on the total bill. In order to improve its bill collection, SNDL has started alerting the consumers about their bills through SMS.
The aforementioned consumer got an sms regarding his bill for the month of June amounting to 870, the last date for payment of which is July 21. Again after few days this customer gets one more SMS that his July month’s bill has been generated and he has to pay 881.75 till July 21. The customer got confused by this second SMS as there are still many more days left for July month to end and the bill has already been generated.
