Six year old dies as truck knocks down school auto

Nagpur News: In a shocking incident that has highlighted the lack of traffic control in the city, a rashly driven truck (KL- 35- A- 1649) knocked over an auto carrying school children at Mahavir Square today, resulting in the death of a six- year old boy.

The deceased Rianz Praveen Jain was a Class I student at Swamy Narayan School, and was on his way to school as usual in his regular auto (MH -31-AP -5648) with other children, when the truck knocked against the auto. Rianz consequently fell off the auto and came under the wheels of the truck. The truck driver sped away from the spot, which comes under the jurisdiction of Lakadganj Police Station, but was nabbed by the police in Kalamna.

The other children in the auto are safe, with minor injuries. Rianz’s family in Itwari is still under shock at the incident.
