Shopping frenzy dazzles markets on Dhanteras

Markets in Orange City sparkled as people of all ages went on a shopping frenzy on Dhanteras. A stroll across some of business hubs and busy shopping streets revealed the vibrancy of the festival mood. The bullion market, electronics showrooms, cloth shops, utensil stores, street vendors and even the fataka shops were flooded with customers. Usually, it is the jewellers who cash in on the gold rush. However, this year the electronics goods dealers are also making merry as products like LEDs, music systems and iPhones in great demand. A flood of lucrative advertisements in local newspapers created a perfect mood for shopping.

The brightly illuminated and aesthetically decorated markets welcomed an array of shoppers who chose items of their likings and importance as well. Food joints and sweet shops too cashed on the extravaganza as the shoppers selected a choice of stuff to celebrate the festivity in an elaborate manner. The retail stores selling garments and other such lifestyle accessories have surfaced with special offers and attractive price discounts on every purchase.

The electronics markets too witnessed a steady pouring of customers who bought a variety of items. The EMI trend has taken the shoppers by storm. The showrooms provided all the products of various brands of LED TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, conditioners and microwave ovens are easily available to the customer at much convenience. On every purchase, separate gifts are being given by the companies as well as the showroom. All the products are available in easy installment with zero per cent rate of interest. The showrooms are also offering every brand of phone.

But the shopping spree was not without the hassles. Choked roads greeted commuters with traffic virtually coming to a standstill at many parts in the city. Eager to shop on auspicious Dhanteras, shoppers literally brought the traffic to a halt in commercial hubs. The traffic police were seen struggling to manage the serpentine traffic. However, it being Dhanteras, roadside stalls reaped brisk business.
