
Nagpur: In a deeply disturbing incident that has shaken the city, a 14-year-old boy who had gone missing from the Gittikhadan area was found murdered under brutal circumstances. The victim, identified as Atharva Dilip Nainore, was discovered dead inside a sack near Ring Road in the Bharatwada area, which falls under the jurisdiction of Kalmeshwar Police Station. The condition of the body was reported to be highly mutilated, sparking widespread outrage and panic among residents.
According to initial information, Atharva had participated in a local procession आयोजित to mark Hanuman Jayanti celebrations in the Gittikhadan area. The procession, which began in the evening, continued late into the night. However, after the event concluded, Atharva went missing and did not return home.
Concerned family members initiated a search but were unable to trace him. Subsequently, a missing person complaint was filed at Gittikhadan Police Station on Friday.
The situation escalated on Saturday when Atharva’s body was found in Bharatwada. As news spread, anger erupted among local residents and relatives. A large group gathered outside Gittikhadan Police Station, staging a protest and accusing the police of failing to act promptly despite the boy being missing for several hours.
Tensions rose significantly, prompting heavy police deployment in the area to control the crowd. Heated arguments were reported between protestors and police officials.
The gruesome nature of the crime has created fear across the locality. Police have intensified their investigation and are actively searching for those responsible for the murder.
