Shashank Manohar quits as BCCI president, to take over as ICC chief

BCCI President Shashank ManoharNagpur/Mumbai: Shashank Manohar has quit as Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president, reports said today.

Sources had earlier told India Today that the Vidharbha cricket strongman was leaving the coveted post as he believes the recommendations made by the RM Lodha panel are impossible to implement.

Manohar, who had taken over as BCCI president last year after the death of Jagmohan Dalmiya, is however, expected to continue as ICC chairman. He will be elected for another term on May 23, if reports are to be believed.

Earlier this month, the Supreme Court came down heavily on the BCCI over its opposition of the Lodha panel’s ‘one state-one vote’ recommendation.
