There is rush for admissions to Std XI. However, there is an equal mad rush for the coaching classes imparting training for competitive exams. The Coaching classes who have gained some repute admit students through an entrance examination.
In an exclusive interview with Nagpur Today, Managing Director of Sharda Coaching Classes Narayan Rameshchandra Sharma said that most of the Junior Colleges in the city do not do justice to the teaching or the curriculum.
This leaves a big lacuna for the students wanting to clear their doubts and get to know the basic and advanced concepts. In a 45 minute period in the Junior College, the lecturer cannot complete even one topic.
This lacuna is removed by the Coaching Classes. Proper teaching, guidance, clearing doubts, extensive tests etc make the student fit for the competitive examinations as well as the regular college.
At the coaching classes, especially in subjects like Physics, Mathematics etc, the lecturers offer alternative measures of understanding the problem and solving them, making it easier for the students in the examination.
At the coaching classes, one gets a feel of competitiveness, since students come from all colleges. This also helps the students in knowledge sharing, networking and notes sharing with students of other colleges.
At Shardas, the students get an intensive coaching, printed study material (made from a thorough study), Test series, Counselling sessions etc.
Narayan added that any student wanting to clear these competitive examinations should maintain the same enthusiasm, gusto (Josh and Junoon) and vigour throughout the two years (i.e. Class XI and Class XII). He claimed that there are 7 lecturers for PMT Courses and 7 for JEE examinations.
One very appealing thing that Nagpur Today noticed was that the lecturers and teachers taught in a language which is best understood by the students. Difficult concepts are explained in Hindi in such a manner that the students listened with rapt attention. They were able to understand and comprehend everything that was taught to them.
The Test-Series offered by Sharda Coaching Classes makes the student mentally prepared for the actual examinations. One gets to know exactly how deep in water one is.
Various teaching methods are utilized at the coaching centres, the ones which can be beneficial to different heterogenous children are used at regular classes in Junior Colleges. If the child is being exposed to two kinds, there is a very good chance one will be effective for them. Children receive more individual care and tuition at coaching classes, meaning teaching is catered to their abilities more directly. Sharda Coaching Classes provides specifically coaching for JEE and PMT entrance examinations.
Narayan claimed that they have a residential arrangement as well as day scholar type of arrangements for their students.
He claimed that 3 of his lecturers who are the pillars of his institution include Karunesh Kumar who teaches Mathematics, Praveen Rao who teaches Physics and Milind Tiwari who teaches Chemistry. Apart from these lecturers, there are many who teach Biology and other subjects.
Narayan said that Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an all India common entrance examination which is conducted for admission in various engineering courses. Since IITs and ISM are the most premier and prestigious Engineering Colleges in India, the candidates have to clear the second level of exam JEE-Advanced for securing admission in them. Only top candidates of JEE-Mains are eligible to appear for JEE-Advanced exam. The candidates who clear JEE-Advanced exam have the opportunity to join either of the IITs or ISM. The candidates who clear JEE-Mains but are not eligible for JEE-Advanced can seek admission in other Engineering Colleges like Indian Institute of Information Technology, National Institute of Technology and followed by other Government and Private Engineering Colleges.
Narayan said that similarly, the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) is a yearly college entrance examination in India. The exam is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in several medical colleges around the country.
